    Business Need / Purpose of Role


    The Commercial Engineering department are now looking to recruit a Commercial Process Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting role and will ideally suit an ambitious person, looking to grow and establish themselves in a role for the long term. For the right candidate all training will be provided.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Handling internal & external customer enquiries for Weir Minerals products including Pumps, and Minerals Processing equipment. Entering them into the company CRM system (C4C), for follow up tasks and meeting Service response targets.
    2. From the customer’s RFQ, (Request for Quote), review technical drawings or systems design documentation and produce timely quotations including :
      • Assessment of customer RFQ enquiries, extracting out all technical specifications and special requirements to thereafter provide that information to the Applications Engineer for Comminutions to do Product selections and as required where Pumps, Cyclones, Rubber applications, etc. are encountered, work with the Sales Manager to complete Product selections.
      • With these equipment selections in hand the CPE to obtain TACs from the relevant Costing Tools, seeking advice from Product manager/s as required. Additional cost considerations are transport costs, spare parts costs and extras costs from the corresponding parties. With this in hand CPE will prepare the Price build up model for the RSM to look at or where a Major Enquiry Alert, (MEA), through Commercial. All additional extras need to be quoted together with the main equipment like the screens media, oil fillings, motor control units etc.
      • Assist where required to pull a complete bid together and to make sure that we fully meet the customer’s specification on the RFQ and in case of any deviations these to be clearly defined and pointed out within the Tender, where relevant documents need to be attached i.e. GA Drawings etc.
      • Preparation of tenders, costings and working with Engineering to seek technical data and customer data sheets.
      • Working with a Tender Team, review margins to ensure they are maintained and maximized where possible alongside the appropriate sales team together with the RSM (SO).
      • Support any amendments of tender specifications, sales proposals and quotations
      • Completion of the company CRM system for all aspects of work.
    3. Problem solving and technical assistance for existing customers and installations, entering all activities within the company CRM system (C4C).
    4. Co-ordinate follow-ups of quotations with the sales team and the RSM.
    5. Check and enter Sales Orders into the CRM system and prepare relevant support contract review documentation to enable simple and effective processing of the order.
    6. Continue to provide support towards contract handling and production related activities for quotations that become orders.
    7. Support the North Africa, Turkey, Central Asia region with Product information or prices with the support of engineering where required

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications



    Experience & Skills

    • A sound technical background, including knowledge of pumps, cyclones, as well as knowledge of all Weir equipment or their equivalent, including experience in detailing and understanding process flow sheets, equipment lists and plant solutions
    • Understanding of RFQ documentation received from the customer to be able to identify technical and commercial sections to thereafter provide clear summaries to other support areas, aiding Product Selections and Commercial consideration for the final Tender documents.
    • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, experience in dealing with customers directly.
    • Computer literate, particularly MS Word, Excel, additionally as a preference knowledge SAP and CRM systems.
    • Negotiation, cost management and all aspects of the Estimating process
