    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    We are seeking a skilled Patternmaker responsible for the manufacture, repair and modification of patterns used in the preparation of moulds for iron and steel castings.




    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities


    His/her main responsibilities are further:

    • Operators will be expected to produce patterns to the specific requirements working with wood, metal and various plastics to a high quality standard.


    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    • Applicants should have served a recognised apprenticeship, be qualified to at least City & Guilds Part 3.
    • A working knowledge / experience of CNC pattern machinery would be advantageous but not essential
    • Have heavy engineering background
    • Experience of working within a Foundry environment would be advantageous

    Manufacturing facilities


    Weir Minerals Europe is a modern end to end manufacturer of gravel and slurry pumps and has been based in Todmorden for the last 125 years. As a business we embrace modern technology right from the outset of the manufacturing process. At Todmorden (West Yorkshire), the UK head office, we create tooling using 3D Print technology, utilise up to the minute foundry technology for the creation of our high wear resistant Hyperchromes and employ semi-robotic fettling processes. We operate an impressive machine shop and a modern, efficient assembly flowline to build the pumps.

    As well as our head office and manufacturing centre at Todmorden, Weir Minerals Europe operates further a rubber lining facility at Yateley (Hampshire) employing around 60 people and is looking for further expansion of its assembling capacity across Europe.
