  • Business Need / Purpose of Role

    We have a vacancy for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter who specialises in the manufacturing industry.

     

    To ensure mechanical preventative maintenance duties are carried out across the site. Duties could include; attending breakdowns, carrying out overhauls on machinery, completing remedial correctives and improving the plants availability and reliability.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is carried out, reducing risk of downtime.

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Good mechanical maintenance background and be competent to work on bearings, couplings, gearboxes, hydraulics, conveyors, overhead cranes, jib crane, centrifugal pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics.

     

    Timed served Mechanical Engineer.  You must hold mechanical qualification (ie. City & Guilds / BTEC / NVQ Level 3).

     

    A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience within a manufacturing environment.

    • Able to work unsupervised and prioritise their own time and activities
    • Have strong analytical skills supporting fast and effective problem solving.
    • Experience in installation and commissioning of new equipment.
    • Machine tool experience

    -£13.50 per hour and shift premium
