As Sales Engineer you are a solid sparring partner for the Regional Sales Managers, who are first point of contact to the customer. The Sales Engineer is a (technical) specialist responsible for a correct translation of the customer projects specifications (RFQ) and to align these within the internal organisation in terms of feasibility in product, quality, time, money, services, information and risks.
You have daily contact with colleagues of the internal organisation, especially with Sales, Contract Management, Bid & Tender Management and various stakeholders in Engineering, Operations and Finance departments. Externally you have contact with customers, engineering companies and suppliers.
In this role you are responsible for the total bid preparation, control, monitor, report and coordinate communications with customers, suppliers and the internal organization to ensure the project is quoted in accordance with overall objectives and commitments.
You have a commercial sense in developing the best possible technical and commercial solutions for our customers!
Support the Regional Sales Manager, during the sales phases and positioning and strategy set-up.
Review of tender and/or customers enquiries on completeness and correctness related to the Weir Minerals product portfolio.
Responsible for evaluating, specifying and selecting the best possible equipment and services from the Weir Minerals product portfolio.
Review and evaluate of project specifications and consult internal specialists and sub-suppliers.
Identify clarifications and exceptions and propose/agree upon with the customer on technical acceptable solutions
Prepare the cost-sales price calculations for the projects together with sales department.
Participate in bid clarification meetings and negotiation rounds.
Check orders on completeness and prepare the internal order specifications.
Participate in the internal and external technical and commercial kick-off meetings.
Finalize specifications (with customer) and handover to Project Management.
Bachelor degree in mechanical, electrical or process engineering.
Preferably work experience in a comparable role.
Knowledge of equipment applied in minerals processing plants is a
Affinity for and passionate about large machines and heavy industries.
Comfortable working in teams.
You speak and write English fluently.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
