  • Business Need / Purpose of Role

    As Project Manager you are part of the Commercial Management Department, a team of about 30 employees. This team consists of Tender Management, Sales/Project Engineering, Project Management, Quality and Electrical & Drive Engineering. The Commercial Management Department is responsible for commercial proposals regarding total and turnkey solutions and the correct fulfillment of sales contracts according to the agreed specifications and contractual obligations. In this position, you report to the Head of Project Management.


    You are a solid sparring partner for the Head of Project Management and the Commercial Manager. You have frequent contact with colleagues of the internal organization, Regional Sales Managers, Contract Managers, Bid & Tender Manager, Sales/Project Engineers and various stakeholders in the Operations and Finance departments. You also have frequent contact with customers (worldwide), inspection agencies and suppliers.

    As a Project Manager, your most important objective is the correct delivery of the various projects according to specifications, within the timeframe and within the calculated budget. To reach these objectives it is the task of the Project Manager to eliminate all obstacles to the organization to ensure clarity amongst all stakeholders involved to ensure efficiency within the project execution process. You contribute greatly to the direction of the organization as well as to the operating result

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities


    During the project, you manage all tasks internally and externally to strive for operational excellence and improve business results. You act as an advisor vis-à-vis the customer. During the project, you continuously update all the parties involved. After delivery and acceptance by the customer, the service department is responsible for the equipment with regards to aftermarket revenue and requests for warranty. However the Project Manager stays aligned at all times in the interest of all follow up of the project of the customer. As the beating heart of the project, you act as a link between the customer, internal stakeholders and the technical department. You maintain an excellent relationship with the customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders and you are well informed about the current status of the various projects.

       The projects are carried out for EPC contractors, and for end-users, and contain  

       a lead time varying from 6 to 24 months. The various steps are well planned and 

       properly monitored by the Project Manager. An important aspect is a good

       coordination of production planning combined with engineering, purchase of semi-

       manufactured products and their assembly. Monitoring/maintaining the critical

       path is essential for a timely delivery of the project.

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    • Bachelor or master degree level in mechanical or industrial engineering or technical business administration
    • You have at least 3 years of work experience in (technical) B2B industry, preferably mining, heavy (agricultural) machinery, production, construction, or similar.
    • You have at least 3 years of work experience with international contracts
    • Good command of the English language; read, speak and write. Strong influential and communication skills.
    • Knowledge of contract law and commercial terms and conditions
    • Strong commercial skills
    • Willingness to travel occasionally (worldwide) is required.
